Oleksiy Golovin, lawyer and expert on labor law, spoke with the Mind about issues concerning work remuneration in today’s realities and shared what employees can do when management is mistreating them in this regard.
Lately the State Fiscal Service has been persistently monitoring the hiring circumstances of employees at enterprises of various industries.Thus, in January-June 2019, 42.7% of audited business entities were found guilty of violations in the payment of salaries and other remuneration.
The Labor Code mentions only a 5-day or 6-day workweek, but this does not mean that employers cannot change the workday or workweek duration. Business, courts and even regulatory authorities - all of them understand that Ukrainian labor legislation lags far behind the real needs of society today (it satisfies neither employees nor employers).
